The wedding and reception venue, Oheka Castle, also known as the Otto Kahn Estate, is located on the North Shore of Long Island, in Huntington, New York. It was the country home of financier and philanthropist Otto Kahn. The name "Oheka" is derived from Otto Hermann Kahn who also used it to name his yacht, Oheka II. The mansion was built by Kahn between 1914 and 1919 and is the second largest private residence in the United States.

Known today as one of the most striking properties on the East Coast, Oheka features 32 individually decorated rooms and stately common spaces, and is surrounded by 23 acres of gorgeous, manicured gardens.

Eat & Drink

Treat your taste buds and dine out in New York City, where you can try cuisines from all over the world.  Indulge in some of New York City's specialties: pizza, bagels and cheesecake!  To satisfy your sweet tooth, stop by one of the city's famous Magnolia bakeries for delicious cupcakes and other sugary treats.  Two iconic restaurants in Central Park are Tavern on the Green and the Loeb Boathouse. For a list of the city's restaurants and to make reservations, visit OpenTable.

To dine in the Huntington, Long Island area, we recommend several restaurants.  Right in Huntington, Prime restaurant offers beautiful views of the harbor. Their a la carte selections include raw bar favorites, mizu sushi, steaks, seafood and hand-made desserts.  Two steakhouses in the area are Blackstone Steakhouse and Rare 650.  Try Piccola Bussola or Volpe (located in The Inn at Fox Hollow) restaurants for Italian fare.  Kashi Japanese offers sushi.  Sapsuckers Hops & Grub features a gastropub style menu and an extensive, rotating selection of small batch, craft beers.

If you are a sports fan, New York City is home to the New York Yankees and now the NYC Football Club (professional soccer), both in season in September.  Tennis fans can enjoy the US Open beginning August 29th through the September 11th finals.  To see a Broadway show at a discount, visit a TKTS discount booth. Manhattan is a mecca for shoppers with Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's, Bergdorf Goodman and Macy's in Herald Square setting the stage.  There are also great boutiques and specialty stores; check out the West Village to find some hidden gems.

On Long Island and in the Hamptons, you can enjoy golf, sailing, horseback riding or skydiving.  To pamper, visit Red Door Spa in nearby Woodbury.  For shopping, visit the Walt Whitman Shops or Roosevelt Mall.  If you want to hear some music, try Jones Beach Theater, The Space at Westbury or Paramount Theater.  Catch some rays at one of Long Island's best beaches, Jones Beach or Robert Moses State Park.  Click here to find a list of beaches close to Huntington.
